Strength Mind Body
Rebuilding the body that work built.
Two decades of hard labour built a body Fox mistook for a healthy one — until it gave out. This is mobility, movement, the main lifts, and building a routine that holds, written for people who were never taught to train and are starting in the middle of a working life.
This book is for you if…
- You're in midlife and coasting stopped working. What your body gave you for free at twenty-five it no longer does, and you want an approach that meets you where you actually are.
- You were never really an athlete. Your strength came from the job — labour, moving things, doing things — not from a gym, a coach, or a program.
- You're rebuilding after a stop. An injury, a health issue, or a stretch when training wasn't possible. Not starting from zero, but starting from below where you used to be.
- You want function, not a physique. The goal is moving, lifting, carrying and recovering well into later decades — not a look.
What's inside
The book moves in the order the body actually needs: earn the movement first, then load it, then build something you can repeat on a bad week.
- Move well before you move heavy — mobility and injury prevention come first, not as a warm-up afterthought.
- Relearn the mechanics — how the body is meant to move, and what years of compensating quietly changed.
- The main lifts — taught with care and honest progression, without ego or guesswork.
- Programming that holds — a routine that survives a hard week on site, not just a good one.
- No gym, no problem — training you can actually do with what you have and the time you have.
“I was never an athlete. My story was work.”
The food half of the rebuild
Training is one half. What the body runs on is the other. Eat Like YOU Mean It covers the nutrition side that this book deliberately leaves alone — so each one can go deep without watering down the other.
Eat Like YOU Mean It
Nobody on a job site talks about nutrition — you eat what's fast and get back to work. After a health setback in his mid-thirties, Fox had to learn food from scratch, testing everything on the only laboratory he had: his own body.
About William Fox
William Fox is a general contractor by trade. He started his first business at twenty with a set of tools and a used car, and he has spent the years since building, losing, and rebuilding — houses, businesses, and himself.
He is a self-published author. The books came out of his own life rather than a classroom or a credential: what he learned about health, mindset, and staying standing when things fall apart. He writes plainly because that's how he thinks, and he only writes about what he has actually lived.
He still works. He still builds. The writing happens alongside the work, not instead of it.
